I am not asserting compressed sensing is a great discovery or advancement in science or mathematics. I am merely asking you to, if not prove, at least explicate in detail, your assertion. What has prohibited you from doing the minimum to at least support your own allegation?
And what does Terry being a Chinese have anything to do with what contribution he has made to mathematics and how big? Why are you so defensive about his ethnicity? Is your valuation going to be different had he been, say a Caucasian? What is your rationale?

@誠信:
Nobody asks you to reveal your personal and professional information. What does your political stance have anything to do with this topic, at all? What does your alleged personal friendship with Terry Tao have anything to do with the topic, at all? For all we care, you could be the neighbor of his babysitter's brother in law. What you have said is wholly irrelevant to the discussion.
1) I pointed out that your assertion that this article says nothing about Terry Tao's contribution to mathematics is false.
2) I am asking you to point out where the two papers go wrong or how it is not relevant to practice. If you are not capable of stating the technical points yourself, perhaps you can provide a link to a review paper that allege the same as you do regarding compressed sensing.
You said "在本文裏, 卻絲毫沒有隻字提及他對數學的貢獻, 隻是反複強調他在數學學習中的傲人成績。" Did you actually read the article? The article writes
"傑出的數學家一般分為兩類,一類是對數學各個分支的發展有整體的把握,具有全局觀;另一類是在自身的研究領域有很深的造詣。這兩類數學家發展到一定程度都可以稱為大師。而陶哲軒是少有的既能把握數學學科的全局,又能在各個分支進行深入研究,取得領先成果的人。以他自己的話說,他賴以生存的本事是在把在一個領域中挖掘出來的寶藏轉移到另一個領域中。
Moreover, in 2006 Terence Tao received the Fields Medal "for his contributions to partial differential equations, combinatorics, harmonic analysis and additive number theory".
This is not not good enough for a mathematician or is it not good enough for you?
I know you reject the theory of compressed sensing. I have on several occasions asked you for concrete rationale. You have never responded. Here I ask again. What is your objection to the theory of compressed sensing. More specifically which part is wrong with Terence Tao's two foundational papers on compressed sensing the links of which I post here? Could you please explicate in details? I am dying to know.

讀完後感慨萬千, 忍不住打幾個字。 很感慨人類社會的荒誕。 不僅這位“明捷”作者, 很多教材的作者也都將 Terry 與數學奠基大師們排列一起, 真是讓人感慨。
