詠梅Ode to the Ume Flower

詠 梅

天然不嬌做，風韻造由神；萬卉皆沉眠，唯她獨鬧春；

雖言冷夜淒，花綻暖冬晨；堪忍他芳妒，還修獨自珍；

尤圖避鬼邪，骨傲遠濁塵；惡獸邪睨之，鶯來愛意深；

不堪為隸民，但保心純真；來去持俠氣，寧孤守淨魂！

Ode to the Ume Flower

Natural as she is, God makes her elegance.

Others all asleep, while she makes the spring.

Cold as winter night are, she warms up the mornings.

Envied by other flowers though, she respects herself all through.

Avoid all evils, she’s away from dirty dusts.

Looked down by beasts, loved by all birds.

Bears to be a slave not, her heart as good as gold.

Acting as a heroine all the time,

she’d rather lonely for the innocent mind.
