巨艦隻緣因利往,

扁舟亦是為名來。

往來有愧先生德,

特地通宵過釣台。

 

A Quatrain by LI Qingzhao

(The Fishing Bay)

 

For great gain, ships sail as fast as they can,

And for fleeting fame, skiffs swift on their way.

Those shamed, afore thee – such a righteous man,

By night-disguised, slip past thy Fishing Bay.
