Atop Panshan Peak by Qie Ji-guang
The woods bitterly wail as the frost-horn doth blare,
Clouds rise as though they ope the gate of peaks a-pair.
Braving the north-gale, coarse brew unmaketh my drunk,
Amid the blown leaves countless homebound crows do fare.
If my halberds can slay all the barbarous foes,
I’d fain guard the frontier, albeit grey my hair.
Who’d have his name carved on the Dancing Sword Terrace —
As erst General Li, whose valour none compare?
