沈宋橫馳翰墨場，風流初不廢齊梁。

論功若準平吳例，合著黃金鑄子昂。

 

A Quatrain by Yuan Hao-wen (Jin Dynasty)

 

Two famed poet-lords — Shen Yun-qing and Soong Yan-qing —

To Qi and Liang dynasties’ verse their flair still did cling.

If we judge their worth like Lord of Yue judged Fan Li’s,

We’d cast in gold a bust of Zi’ang, crowned as king.
