蝶戀花 窗外綠陰添幾許 – 王國維

 

窗外綠陰添幾許。

剩有朱櫻，尚係殘春住。

老盡鶯雛無一語。

飛來銜得櫻桃去。

坐看畫梁雙燕乳。

燕語呢喃，似惜人遲暮。

自是思量渠不與。

人間總被思量誤。

Beyond the window, green shade deepens more,

Though lingering cherries bid spring stay at the door.

In silence, now full-fledged, vernal orioles

Pick the cherries, anon, away they soar.

 

On the carved beam, twin swallows ply their chore—

Feeding chicks with chirps, as if pitying my sore

Of waning years, as I sit and watch them.

Life is often misled by our desires galore.
