初疑夜雨忽朝晴，乃是山泉終夜鳴。

流到前溪無半語，在山做得許多聲。

I thought it rained last night, but, lo! the skies are gay,

In truth, the mountain rills had gurgled all the way.

So hushed, once they converge into the brook below,

Though in the valleys still they clamour loud alway.
