《觀滄海》－ 曹操

 

東臨碣石，以觀滄海。

水何澹澹，山島竦峙。

樹木叢生，百草豐茂。

秋風蕭瑟，洪波湧起。

日月之行，若出其中；

星漢燦爛，若出其裏。

幸甚至哉，歌以詠誌。

(Watching the Blue Sea)

 

Eastbound to Mt. Jieshi I hie,

From its peaks I o’erlook the sea.

The vast blue water rolls forth free,

The jagged isles spear into th’ sky.

Th’ trees and greens abound far and nigh,

From near to far sprawls th’ wild lea.

The wind whistles in autumn key,

The tidal waves billow forth high.

The moon and the sun move around,

As though they leap out of the deep.

The Galaxy blindingly bright,

As if from the main, so astound.

In so much joyfulness I steep, 

I psalme my wishes with delight.

譯後語：曹操的這首《觀滄海》正好十四行，所以就借用 Petrarchan rhyme scheme 來英譯。記得以前也用過這個韻譜譯過《龜雖壽》的。
