大寒吟 - (宋)邵雍
舊雪未及消,新雪又擁戶。
階前凍銀床,簷頭冰鍾乳。
清日無光輝,烈風正號怒。
人口各有舌,言語不能吐。
Song of the Major Cold by Shao Yong (Soong Dynasty)
Lo, linger still the last remnants of snow,
More fresh snow seals each household once again.
Grotesque icicles from all eaves hang so low,
Afore the steps, a silver bed is lain.
The sun so pale as if it lost its glow,
The wintry wind roars loud with might and main.
Albeit we have supple tongue as all know,
Their prowess the fierce coldness doth detain.
V2.
Lo, linger still the last remnants of snow,
More fresh snow seals each household once again.
Grotesque icicles from all eaves hang so low,
The well, nigh the steps, wears a silver chain.
The sun so pale as if it lost its glow,
The wintry wind roars loud with might and main.
Albeit we have supple tongue as all know,
Their prowess the coldness doth detain.
