荷盡已無擎雨蓋，菊殘猶有傲霜枝。
一年好景君須記，最是橙黃橘綠時。

 

A Quatrain by Su Shi

(To Comrade-in-Arms Liu Jingwen)

 

When lotus wilts, it hath lost its rain shield,

Whereas crysanths to frost refuse to yield.

Prithee, keep in mind the best of the year –

Orange’s gold joins citrus’ green in the field.
