譯記：
因為狄金森的火車詩《我喜歡看它舔著一哩又一哩》，想起了惠特曼的《致冬天的火車頭》；從那裏又想起了多少年前誦讀楚圖南選譯的《草葉集選》。
那時，讀到楚譯《大路之歌》的一些章節時，覺得有些句子拗口，比如第14章中：“從任何一項成功，都產生出某種東西，使更偉大的鬥爭成為必要”，或是第15章中：“我給你比黃金還寶貴的我的愛”。於是，就擅自做了改動。
後來讀到趙蘿蕤的譯本，若幹處同樣讀起來不順。比如：“在實現任何一項成就時，不管是什麽，必然會出現某種東西使更加偉大的鬥爭成為必要”，或是：“我給你的是比金錢寶貴得多的友愛”。
逝者如斯，當年我的那些改動現在未必還記得（準確）。不過，大致應該是這樣的 --
