撼樹蜉蝣自覺狂，書生技癢愛論量。
老來留得詩千首，卻被何人校短長？

As mad as a mayfly, I tried to shake the tree  —

It seems a scholar’s itch: to judge what ought to be.   

Now old, I leave behind thousands of rhymed verses,

But whose bold brush will censure them, or praise with glee?
