不是金來不是銀，能工巧匠磨成針。

因為長著一隻眼，隻認衣裳不認人。

Deft hands hone it to a sharp tip.

With but one eye, it can behold

Garments alone, man it’ll just skip.

百煉千錘一根針，一顛一倒布上行。

眼睛長在屁股上，隻認衣冠不認人。

 

On Needle by Wen Yin-Jiang (Qing Dynasty)

 

A needle forged through many a strike,

Back and forth, through fabrics, it weaves apace.

An eye opens from its butt like a spike,

It sees not man, but only garb and lace.
