A Verse writ at Enlightening Temple by Wu Wen-ying
Beside the pool, where lotus red, I take a rest,
Beholding crows return with sunset to their nest.
Cloud-born rain hath brought down parasol leaves a few,
The moon, bringing cool, hath stilled my dear fan’s hot zest.
Waters to home, so wide; dreams of home, so depressed,
My panes peer at the distant fall hill, woe-clad crest,
O, southbound wild geese, prithee, take my tidings home -
- By city gate, willow-veiled roofs, as ‘tis addressed.
