山雨溪風卷釣絲，瓦甌篷底獨斟時。

醉來睡著無人喚，流下前溪也不知。

 

An Impromptu by Du Xun-he (Tang Dynasty)

 

The storm o’er mountain stirs my fishing line,

Beneath the roof, I sip a pot of wine.

Asleep, awake, alone, the boat adrift

Downstream — no chart, no clue, no sign.
