遊園不值 - 葉紹翁

 

應憐屐齒印蒼苔，小扣柴扉久不開。

春色滿園關不住，一枝紅杏出牆來。

 

Visiting the Garden But being Shut Out by Ye Shao-Weng

 

Knock, knock, but no one unlatches the brushwood door,

Mayhap my clogs could mar the moss he may adore?

The garden’s walls cannot conceal vernal vistas,

A twig of red apricot peeps out to explore.
