《臘八粥》 〔清代〕- 王季珠

 

開鍋便喜百蔬香，差糝清鹽不費糖。

團坐朝陽同一啜，大家存有熱心腸。

 

Laba Congee by Wang Jizhu (Qing Dynasty)

 

As the lid’s raised, craving multi-veg-smells entice,

A pinch of salt flavours the congee of crushed rice.

Sitting around, kith and kin sip beneath the sun,

O, it warms their tummies and makes them feel so nice.
