人心 – （宋）邵雍

 

弟兄尚路人，它人安可從。

人心方寸間，山海幾千裏。

輕言托朋友，對麵九嶷峰。

多花必早落，桃李不如鬆。

管鮑死已久，何人繼其蹤。

E’en ‘tween siblings, estrangement can arise

Hence, let alone with other alien guys    

Our hearts seem so close, yet so far away

Like twixt alps and seas, many a mile lies.

An easy trust in friends is not wise,  

They’re like mist-locked Mt. Nine-Peaks in all eyes.

Unlike the pine tree, the pear, or the peach,   

Though bearing many blooms, it early dies.

Though sages, Guan-Zhong and Bao-Shu, long gone,

Who would fain trace them and carry them on?
