一派青山景色幽，

前人田地後人收。

後人收得休歡喜，

還有收人在後頭。

 

A Quatrain by Fan Zhongyan

(An Inscription on Fan to Disciples)

 

Around a range of blue hills with vista serene,

The fields, once toiled by forebears, where kins reap and glean.

Those kins who harvest from the fields overjoy not.

For you would be followed by many a kin unseen.
