An Octave by Li Shangyin
(Twilight)
A hermit, I overlook the small town,
Summer tempest ceased; it turns cool and clear.
Heaven pities low-born grass bending down,
The twilight, though late, still appears so dear,
In its faint glow my small loft and I drown,
Into the windows some tender gleams peer.
Moreover, in trees nests lie dried around,
Those nimble southern wings flutter with cheer.
