A Verse By Su Shi
(All the Life is but a Big Dream)
All the life is but a big dream,
How often could the chilled autumn on man alight?
Trees nigh the loggias moan in wind at night,
Lo, my locks turn grey, and mine eyebrows knit so tight.
Few guests come to share my rough wine,
The clouds frequently cloud the moon albeit it’s bright.
Who would share with me the mid-autumn-light?
I hold my wine-cup, facing th’north, grief at its height.
