《酒》- 金瓶梅詩

 

酒損精神破喪家，

語言無狀鬧喧嘩。

疏親慢友多由你，

背義忘恩亦是他。

切須戒，

飲流霞，

若能依此實無差。

失卻萬事皆因此，

今後逢賓隻待茶。

 

Harms of Alcohol

 

Alcohol can ruin thy family and brain,

Thy deed, crazed deed, thy tongue, crazed tongue,

On kith and kin, thou wilt inflict much pain,

And thou wilt become a churl, a disloyal one!

Alas, such rosy “nectar” begets no fun,

Hence, thou must quit such drink.

If thou dost not part from this imp, in the long run,

No doubt at all, all thy noble things will sink,

Thus, from now on, tea for guests, thou must think.
