山行  – （晚唐）杜牧

 

遠上寒山石徑斜，白雲深處有人家。

停車坐愛楓林晚，霜葉紅於二月花。

 

A Mountain Trip by Du Mu (Late Tang dynasty)

 

A stony path winds far up into the cold hill,

In the depth of white clouds a few households stand still.

I halt my horse-drawn cart for the twilit maples,

Their frosty red, no Feb blooms’ hues can match the thrill.
