春曉 – 孟浩然

 

春眠不覺曉，處處聞啼鳥。

夜來風雨聲，花落知多少。

Deep in spring slumber, scarce I mark the dawn,

Birds chirp far and nigh, I wake with drowsy yawn.

Last night, so loud did the rain and wind howl,

Wonder how many blooms now lie on the lawn...

Last night, the storm howled loud—how many blooms

Were buffeted away in wind and rain?
