千裏鶯啼綠映紅，水村山郭酒旗風。

南朝四百八十寺，多少樓台煙雨中。

 

Spring in the South by Du Mu

 

Trill of birds, red-dotted leas, o’er myriad miles,

Brook-villages, hill-girt towns, and tavern-flags-lined aisles.

Some four hundred temples from Southern Dynasties,

How many are submerged in misty rain like isles?
