述懷 – 蘇軾

 

清夜無塵，月色如銀。

酒斟時、須滿十分。

浮名浮利，虛苦勞神。

歎隙中駒，石中火，夢中身。

 

雖抱文章，開口誰親。

且陶陶、樂盡天真。

幾時歸去，作個閑人。

對一張琴，一壺酒，一溪雲。

(My Wishes)

 

O, what a dustless night, tonight,

The moon emits silver-like hue.

‘Tis time for self-delight,

I’d fain in drink fully imbrue,

For fame and gain together do

Bid me burn in vain in my ire.

Time flies fast, like foals o’er chasms flew,

Like sparkles in the fire, 

Like dreams that fast expire.   

 

Though I’m a courtier erudite,

Alas, who would listen to me?

Fun be my appetite

To the fullest, O let it be.

When could I be a returnee?

At home be a man sans fret and fear,

A zither of mine sings with glee,

A pot of wine - my dear,

A creek of clouds - my peer.
