湖光秋月兩相和，潭麵無風鏡未磨。

遙望洞庭山水翠，白銀盤裏一青螺。

 

Gazing at Dongting Lake – Liu Yuxi (Tang Dynasty)

 

Breezeless, the lustrous lake and fall moon tryst at will,

The water seems like a looking-glass sans polish.

O, look, the glistening Dongting and the green hill,

As if a conch shell sits on a dish silverish.
