四顧山光接水光，憑欄十裏芰荷香。

清風明月無人管，並作南樓一味涼。

 

A Quatrain by Huang Tingjian

(A Verse written on South Tower in EZhou)

 

The wide waters embrace the mountains in sight,

The scent of lotus and trapa, what a delight.  

Along South Tower’s handrails, I enjoy cool air

Bestowed by the unchained breeze and the moon so bright.
