一夜思親淚，天明又複收。
恐傷慈母意，暗向枕邊流。

(Mourning Father on New Year’s Day)

 

I cannot stop my grieving tears all night

Until the arrival of the first light.

For fear of saddening mother again,

I weep into my pillows out of sight.
