少年易老學難成，一寸光陰不可輕。
未覺池塘春草夢，階前梧葉已秋聲。

 

A Quatrain Urging Study by Zhu Xi

 

Aging doth outpace what learning might take,

Hence, let each ticking stir the mind awake.

Afore I rise from my spring dreams by pond,

Plane leaves strew on steps like many a flake.
