初夏 – （宋）朱淑真

 

竹搖清影罩幽窗，兩兩時禽噪夕陽。
謝卻海棠飛盡絮，困人天氣日初長。

 

Early Summer by Zhu Shu-zhen (Soong Dynasty)

 

Bamboo sways, shadowing the hushed window,

In pairs, birds chirp, resting in afterglow.

Gone are crab-apples, gone are willow fluffs,

The weary weather turns all to sallow.
