東欄梨花 – 蘇東坡

 

梨花淡白柳深青，

柳絮飛時花滿城。

惆悵東欄一株雪，

人生看得幾清明。

 

A Seven-Character Quatrain by Su Shi

(A Pear Tree by Eastern Hedge)

 

Lo, willows dark green, pear flowers pure white,  

The whole town eyes willow catkins in flight.

A rueful pear tree by the eastern hedge

Discerns life and lives with far and clear sight.
