枯樹賦 – 庾信 （段章）

 

昔年種柳，依依漢南。

今看搖落，淒愴江潭。

樹猶如此，人何以堪！

 

An Excerpt from Ode of Wilted Trees by Yu Xin

 

The willows were planted that year,

They looked lush and cute in Han Nan.

Now they look shabby and sere,

Dying, heart-wrenched, in Jiang Tan.

If trees age at such a pace drear,

Alas, what could we do as man!

當年栽下的柳樹，繁茂可愛。現在枯敗凋零，令人淒傷。霎那間，樹都能老成這樣，人又如何經受年齡的催迫！
