臨江仙 柳絮 - （紅樓夢）曹雪芹

 

白玉堂前春解舞，東風捲得均勻。

蜂圍蝶陣亂紛紛。

幾曾隨逝水？豈必委芳塵？

 

萬縷千絲終不改，任他隨聚隨分。

韶華休笑本無根。

好風憑藉力，送我上青雲。

(Fluffy Willow Catkins)

 

Afore White Jade Hall, spring begins to dance,

East wind whirls the fluffs together high and low,

As if bees swarm and butterflies flutter to and fro.

O, have the fluffs ever followed the stream?

Why must they fall to the dust with the flow?

 

Myriad thread-like twigs swing as always,

Despite the fluffs gather or scatter in wind’s blow

Prithee teasing not, we are rootless thou dost know,

We will ride a good wind in time,  

High up to the blue skies we can go.
