早梅 - （明）道源

 

萬樹寒無色，南枝獨有花。

香聞流水處，影落野人家。

 

A Quatrain by Dao Yuan (Ming dynasty)

(Plum Blossoms in Early Spring)

 

All trees have lost their colour under snow,

Save one twig in the south stands still to blow.

A scent wafts from the brook, my nose follows,

On a farmer’s house I see plum shadows.
