《驚蟄二月節》- 元稹

 

陽氣初驚蟄，韶光大地周。

桃花開蜀錦，鷹老化春鳩。

時候爭催迫，萌芽互矩修。

人間務生事，耕種滿田疇。

 

Awakening of Insects by Yuan Zhen

 

Spring thunders, balmy air, insects have felt.

Vernal sunlight washes hills, rills, and veldt,

Peach blossoms like unfurling Shu brocade,

Into soft-pinioned doves, the eagles melt.   

O, eager moments hasten each other,

Verdure sprouts into many a greenbelt.

People begin to hustle and bustle -

Ploughing, toiling, for barley, fruit, and spelt.
