梅雪爭春未肯降，

騷人閣筆費評章。

梅須遜雪三分白，

雪卻輸梅一段香。

(Snow and Prunus Mume)

 

Both snow and mume contend for the symbol of spring,

Deciding who wins, poets feel it’s a tough thing.

Albeit white snow seems whiter than those prunus mume,

Tis mume rather than white snow that can fragrance bring.
