孤村落日殘霞， 

輕煙老樹寒鴉， 

一點飛鴻影下。

青山綠水， 

白草紅葉黃花。

‘Twas sunset, a lone hamlet in twilight;

On mist-veiled old trees crows did alight;

A gaggle of geese flew

O’er hills green and rills blue,

Leaves red, flowers yellow, and pasture white.
