Sample Volume:  In the Left Ventricular Inflow tract (LVI) Normal Flow:  Primarily diastolic Abnormal Finding:  Increased diastolic flow velocity and spectral broadening due to mitral stenosis.

Sample Volume:  In the Left Atrium (LA) Normal Flow:  Diastolic Abnormal Finding:  High velocity retrograde systolic flow and spectral broadening due to  mitral regurgitation.
