It's neither easy nor hard. Most people will get the care they need but it takes time to make the appointments. Nothing gets done immediately. But if you're really very sick or trauma in an accident, there's the hospital that can take you in right away. I think the hardest thing is when you get some stubborn small ailment such as dermatitis, seasonal allergies, eye problems. Those things wouldn't put you in life risk but creates inconvenience. You must be referred to the specialist, which will take months to be seen. If it doesn't work for you, then you will have to search for another doctor. I've had dermatitis with dry, scaly skin for years and never is cured. Because it's very hard to find a derm to be referred to from the family med. They don't like to make referrals. And it doesn't put my life at risk. Pediatricians, however, are very nice and are willing to refer to specialists because they know they can't do everything for the kids. They have no knowledge on various conditions. Family medicine doctors and PAs like to pretend they know it all. Adults don't need see specialist until they are on stage 4 cancer.
