薇閣成為台灣汽車旅館的代表

1925年發源自美國、原本平凡無奇的motel(汽車旅館)，在台灣商人的創意下，搖身一變成為令人驚豔的六星級、七星級汽車旅館，且數量仍在持續增長中。

根據“汽車旅館地圖線上”網站指出，全台灣目前預估有超過800家的汽車旅館，以每家旅館30個房間、每房每天4次周轉率、每次休息台幣1000元估算，產值每年就有350億元。

這其中，薇閣精品旅館成為台灣汽車旅館風潮的帶領者，薇閣董事長許調謀因此有了“汽車旅館教父”的稱號。他嫌惡浴帽，於是薇閣為女人準備了發夾，讓女人美美地挽起頭發，衝洗一身香汗淋漓；他顧慮客人的隱私，於是薇閣的“送餐台”可從車庫直接送餐；他貼心地注意到，因肥皂香味會造成客人“困擾”，所以薇閣自行研發了“無味皂”；為了照顧偷吃的朋友，甚至有按一個鍵就可出現捷運站、開會聲音等“背景音樂”的貼心設施。

除了貼心的服務，台灣的汽車旅館更是在房間的設計上花盡了心思，如“異想樂園”房間內有二具真正的電動旋轉木馬、“白色森林”以北京鳥巢為設計概念、“美國舞娘”就連鋼管都有。另外，台灣的汽車旅館內甚至還配有八爪椅、毒龍鑽等情趣設備，增加情侶間不同的情趣。

薇閣董事長說，女人戴浴帽的時候是最醜的時候，所以薇閣不提供浴帽，而提供的是專用發夾。
