32.（組詩）蒙特利爾老城暢想之二：
兵器廣場 (Place d’Armes)
---蒙城創立者麥森諾夫將軍雕像觀感

天邊的白雲
曾被三百多年前的戰馬撕碎
新大陸遼闊的地平線
曾被英法士兵的影子蠶食
曆史 沿聖勞倫斯河
空下一段慘白的歲月
 
文明之花
無論多麽高雅尊貴
一經鮮血澆灌
就讓有毒的紅罌粟更加妖冶
綻放並吐露咒語
 
傷痛可以折疊 記憶可以塵封
遠去的創口依然滲血
土著少女頭上的野花
依然在風中顫栗
 
將軍啊 但願你手中的戰旗
能裹起陽光碎片的溫暖
孵化和平鴿的哨音
 
但願你手中的利劍
能劈開千年鐵樹
讓其長出翠綠的橄欖
為藍色星球上的生命

撐開一片綠蔭

後記：蒙特利爾老城的兵器廣場（Place d’Armes）被稱為蒙特利爾老城的心髒，因為它是昔日蒙城發展並走向興盛繁榮的中心。廣場正中心矗立著蒙特利爾市的建立者保羅·舒默迪·麥森諾夫的雕像，用來紀念這位當年帶領法國軍隊打敗易洛魁人進攻的領袖。他身穿17世紀的軍裝，高舉著一麵旗幟，腳下環繞著幾位當年與他一起奮鬥的戰友以及他的戰鬥對手如易洛魁人、印第安人的雕像。
這樣為爭奪一塊土地而拚殺的雙方同在一座紀念碑上被後人紀念，這在世界上還是不多見的。當然他們當年驅趕和屠殺當地土著印第安人的行為並不值得誇耀。
    廣場的四周是聖母大教堂，蒙特利爾銀行大廈，紐約人壽保險大廈等著名地標性建築，都有數百年的曆史。

The white clouds on the horizon
Were once torn apart by warhorses three centuries ago.
The vast horizon of the New World
Was once devoured by the shadows of English and French soldiers.
History, flowing along the St. Lawrence River,
Leaves behind a pale and hollowed-out era.

The flower of civilization,
No matter how noble or refined,
Once watered with blood,
Becomes a deadly red poppy,
Blooming with whispered curses.

Pain can be folded away, memory sealed in dust,
Yet distant wounds still seep with blood.
The wildflowers in a native girl’s hair
Still tremble in the bitter wind.

O General, may the battle flag in your hands
Gather the warmth of scattered sunlight
To nurture the call of the dove of peace.

May the sword you wield
Split open the thousand-year-old iron tree,
So it may sprout lush olive branches,
Casting a canopy of green over all life on Earth.
