對月寓懷 － 曹雪芹

 

時逢三五便團圓，

滿把晴光護玉欄。

天上一輪才捧出，

人間萬姓仰頭看。

 

A Seven-Character Quatrain by Cao Xueqin

(Confiding in the Bright Moon)

 

On each fifteenth night she grows fully round

And sheds cold light on jade handrails around.

When she rises high amidst all the stars,

Myriad heads look up at her on the ground.
