This is the scenario that I need help with. I am working on a new project. So far no data but since the funding comes from the top level at corporate, its exposure is high. Plus, many other people in this group will not have uch to do in a few months. So every pair of eyes are focusing on this funding now. every pair of hands want to put deep into this little dough.
A sr. director is not exception. He wants to build a sub-team under him to run this project, though I was designated as the owner of this project. My boss and I both did not like the idea to have this "sub-team" to look over my shoulder for what I do. But I doubt he would be able to fend off this axxhole. Luckily, it is not announced yet, i.e. big boss has not heard of this or agreed with this idea yet. So my plan is to go to him directly, and make it clear to him that I can't work this way. This is almost exactly the same situation a year ago. IN that case, we missed a precious opportunity to get funding for my program. This time, even worse, there is no data yet and this old fool starts messing around.
I need help to come up with a strategy to talk with big boss. My former expereince with him was not good. Any idea/suggestion?
