【原創電影劇本英文版】
Women's horrified screams and moans rise over the sound of the gunfire. The room is crowded and full of thick smoke from the gunpowder. The plastered walls can hardly hold the bullets and seem to collapse.
Botkin, standing closest to Nicholas, takes two shots to the abdomen. A third bullet hits his legs and shatters both his kneecaps.
Crouching at the northeastern corner, Trupp is struck on his left thigh by two bullets fired in rapid succession. Another bullet smashes through his skull and kills him instantly.
Kharitonov, standing against the northern wall, is hit with several bullets at once. He sits down and dies.
The women at first stand in place, frozen with fear. Then, as bullets whistle across the room, they huddle together in the southeastern corner, screaming for help in vain.
Ermakov raises his Mauser as Alexandra turns her head away and crosses to herself. Ermakov pulls the trigger. A bullet slams into the left side of her skull.
At the rear of the room, frenzied Marie hurls herself against the closed door of the storeroom, pounding against it and rattling the knobs. Ermakov finds his Mauser empty and grabs a second gun from his belt. He aims beneath the veil of smoke. His bullet strikes her in the thigh and she falls suddenly to the floor.
In the farthest corner, the bullet catches Anna in the upper left thigh. She sprawls to the floor with her broken bones.
One bullet pierces through the white pillow and varieties of jewelry scatter out of it.
Due to thicker plaster dust and noxious smoke from the gunpowder, the executioners stop shooting and stumble out of the room, coughing and wiping tears off stinging eyes.
INT. CORRIDOR -- NIGHT
The double doors to the corridor are thrown open to dissipate the toxic fumes from the murder room.
A few executioners, sick of the gases and the carnage, fall against the corridor wall, crying and vomiting.
YUROVSKY
We have to go back in to finish the operation.
Pushing through the men, Yurovsky leads Nikulin and Ermakov back across the threshold.
INT. MURDER ROOM -- NIGHT
The victims moan, sob and writhe about. Nicholas, Alexandra, Trupp and Kharitonov lie dead on the floor.
Dr. Botkin, covered in blood, leaning on his right arm as he tries to raise himself from the floor. Yurovsky holds his Mauser close to Dr. Botkin's head and pulls the trigger. Dr. Botkin's body is slammed against the floor.
At the center of the room, Alexei sits rigid in his chair, his ashen face spattered with blood. Nikulin holds his Browning pistol in quivering hands and fires off five bullets in quick succession.
Yurovsky fires the last bullets from his Mauser directly into Alexei, who slowly slips from his chair and crumple to the floor, moaning and alive.
YUROVSKY
(yelling)
Hey, Ermakov, come here, out of bullets.
Ermakov approaches and pulls an eight-inch triangular bayonet from his belt to stab Alexei over and over. Yurovsky watches in horror as Alexei struggles against the powerful wild Ermakov. The chair lie toppled on the floor.
YUROVSKY (CONT'D)
Nothing seems to work.
ERMAKOV
He's injured, but still alive.
Pushing Ermakov aside, Yurovsky pulls his second gun, a Colt, from his belt and fires two shots into Alexei.
As Yurovsky and Ermakov approach them, Olga and Tatiana struggle to get to their feet. Yurovsky aims his Colt and fires behind Tatiana. The bullet tears into the rear of her head.
Moving forward, Ermakov violently kicks Olga to make her spin toward the floor and squeezes the trigger of his Nagant revolver. The bullet catches Olga just beneath her chin.
Marie, wounded in the leg, falls to the floor in front of the storeroom door, hidden with Anastasia when Anna and her pillows collapse against them.
Hearing their screams, Ermakov turns on them with his blood-stained bayonet in his hand. He grabs Marie and stabs her in the chest over and over again, but the bayonet is unable to pierce her bodice. She falls in a dead faint because of severe pains.
Ermakov turns on Anastasia as she backs into the corner next to the storeroom door. He draws back the blade and plunges it into Anastasia's chest as she struggles. He repeatedly swings his bayonet, unable to penetrate her bodice. She falls after Ermakov fires at her head.
Something white moves in the corner. After being shot in the leg and falling in a faint, Anna writhes with one white pillow in her arms.
ANNA
(wailing)
Thank God. God has saved me.
Anna tries to get to her feet while Ermakov reaches her and slashes his bayonet in delirium.
Yurovsky takes pulses of each body to make sure that all are dead. Anastasia sits up moaning. Ermakov stops the moaning by using the butt of a rifle to smash her head.
YUROVSKY
Wrap the bodies in blankets and carry them out to the truck.
As Yurovsky leaves, the soldiers begin to move the bodies, struggling with the heavy bundles drenched in blood.
One body slips from their hands with a thud back onto the floor, a watch falling out. A guard picks it up and puts it into his pocket.
A few guards join in to pilfer from the bodies. They search the pockets of Nicholas' tunic and find his cigarette holder. They take rings and bracelets and watches from the corpses and put them into their own pockets.
Marie remains unconscious. She gradually wakes up and crawls through the collapsed wall into the storeroom.
INT. STOREROOM -- NIGHT
Marie continues crawling across the floor and stops before the heap of trash beside the wall. She removes the trash and opens the hidden access panel.
INT. UNDERGROUND PASSAGE -- STOREROOM -- NIGHT
Marie crawls into the underground passage and passes out.
EXT. STREET -- CATHEDRAL -- NIGHT
Sasha drives the trash cart on the streets near the Cathedral.
VICTOR
Pull over here. Let me get down.
SASHA
I'm waiting for you here. Hurry up.
VICTOR
No, you can't remain here. It's suspicious and dangerous. Just leave. I can handle it by myself.
SASHA
Take the gun.
VICTOR
Thanks. Go, go, go.
Victor scoops the gun from Sasha's hand, jumps out of the trash cart and runs on the streets.
He locates the manhole of the sewer, lifts the cover off it, peers down and creeps inside.
INT. UNDERGROUND PASSAGE -- STOREROOM -- IPATIEV HOUSE -- NIGHT
In the darkness, Victor gropes his way through the underground passage and stumbles over Marie's body. Marie groans. Victor drops to his knees beside her. Victor raises Marie to a half sitting position, his arms cradling her.
VICTOR
Oh, Marie, you're wounded so seriously. Let me get you out of here.
Victor crawls with Marie on his back and wriggles through the passage toward the manhole.
EXT. CATHEDRAL -- DAY
Victor carries Marie in his arms and runs across the street toward the cathedral. A SISTER opens the rear door and lets them in.
