1. Undistilled beverages
* Beer: An alcoholic beverage made by brewing and fermenting cereals, usually malted barley, and flavored with hops and the like for a slightly bitter taste.
* Wine: An alcoholic beverage typically made of fermented grape juice.
2. Distilled alcoholic beverage (also called liquor or spirit)
The liquor and spirit are a distilled beverage, such as brandy or whiskey, which is produced by distilling fermented grain, fruit, or vegetables. This excludes undistilled fermented beverages such as beer and wine.
* Vodka: An unaged, colorless, distilled spirit, originally made in Russia.
* Brandy: A spirit distilled from wine or fermented juice of grapes or apples, peaches, plums, etc. Cognac is the brandy distilled in the town of Cognac, in W. central France.
* Whiskey: A liquor distilled from a fermented mash of grain, such as barley, rye, or corn, and usually containing from 43-50% alcohol.
