Funeral service for slain Yale student Kevin Jiang to be held Saturday
The service will take place at Trinity Baptist Church at 2 p.m., honoring a military veterinarian who died at the church where he dedicated his time as a volunteer.
"At a press conference on Monday, Yale President Peter Salovey spoke about Tsin’s volunteer activities, which include cooking for the homeless, mentoring young people and checking mercury levels in fish in the Quinnipiac River."
"Trinity Baptist priest Greg Hendrixon had agreed to officiate his wedding shortly before Jiang’s death; Now Hendrickson will lead his funeral.
“As a community, we are deeply saddened right now,” Hendrickson said says the New Haven Independent. “But Kevin lived by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his promise to rise from the dead.”
"Hendrickson also described Jiang as an exciting and enthusiastic young man who loved meeting and interacting with other people."
“Although his life on earth was shortened, he made full use of his time there. His example encourages us to do the same.”
