茂宜島的Haleakala火山是著名的國家公園. 從山下碧藍的太平洋水到山頂貧瘠的火山岩,Haleakala的海拔高達一萬英尺. 這是個獨一無二的地方, 包含幹燥寒冷的紅色火山荒漠和綠色的熱帶雨林, 令人難忘.

受MAUI REVALED的吸引, 我於9/5日下午1時,開始從haleakala山頂西南，行4.4英裏，到達mamane trailhead. 這段地麵都是浮土和火山岩. 我的教訓是一定要戴手套，穿長褲, 因為我在大拐彎處摔了倆跤. mamane小徑比較好騎, 是狹窄的堅實路麵. 最後的waiohuili 小徑非常難騎, 到處是斷木和樹根. 到了waipoli大道, 就是2.3英裏土路, 有些上坡.
