我們在AirBnB租的度假屋就在Onset Bay 邊上，風景很漂亮，有四個臥室三個廁所。後院還有5個kayak boat 和 BBQ爐子，絕對是度假的好地方。
第一天就發現洗碗機不工作，第二天早上我給房東發信息，他讓我首先檢查房間的電路盒子看看是不是跳閘了。沒有跳閘，洗碗機還是沒有電。
第三天房東過來檢查洗碗機，發現不是洗碗機的問題，是連接洗碗機的電線出了問題。他來檢查的時候，我們有兩人出去旅遊，四人去抓螃蟹，房東就跟留在家裏的兩位女士解釋，因為是獨立節現在很難找到電工來修理，估計要在獨立日之後的工作日（星期一）才能修。
也就是說我們度假的5天就沒有洗碗機了，兩位女士就向房東提出退一點錢作為補償。房東問要多少錢？兩位女士沒有馬上回答，打電話告訴了我。
下午我們抓完螃蟹往回走的路上就在車輛討論要多少Credit, 我首先提出100就可以了，並且說房東做生意也不容易，另外一位男士也同意我的提議。
回到家跟大家商量，有三位女士說應該要400 Credit（每家100），我說400 太多了，每天用十分鍾洗碗也不是什麽大事。最後為了照顧女士們的情緒我向房東提出了200：“Thanks for coming to check dishwasher. My wife told me that dishwasher would not work because of electricity problem. If this is case, can you give us $200 credit ？”
房東看了我message, 馬上說我要的credit 是合理的：“Ok that is fair. Sorry for the inconvenience. You never know when something like that will happen. I will send the credit through Airbnb. Thanks for your patience. Enjoy the 4th!”
我們退房後，這是房東給我寫的review:
Jxxx had a very nice group of family and friends and communicated very effectively when we had a problem with the dishwasher and were very kindly allowed us to come and service the dishwasher. It turned out it was an electrical issue and because it was the day before July 4th an electrician was unavailable. We worked out compensation for their inconvenience of not having a dishwasher and they were very understanding of the situation. We are happy they enjoyed their vacation and would love to have them back.
比我們在卡塔爾洗衣機壞了要水漫金山好多了。：）
