話說林誌炫唱了一首澳洲著名樂隊 Air Supply （空氣補給）八十年代的名曲，高音連續遞進，極具挑戰性。林同學唱得可以說相當不錯，讓人由衷地欣賞佩服。要命的是，看著林的演唱，屏幕上打著中英文歌詞，我就對詞歌最關鍵一句的翻譯有些不解。這一句也是歌的名字《 Making Love Out of Nothing At All 》，中文譯為《讓愛一切成空》。
我的小腦袋琢磨了一晚上，歌詞看了一遍一遍，也沒明白怎麽這句“ out of nothing at all ”就成了“一切成空”。在我看來，這個意思恰恰是有些反了。 Make something A out of something B, 是說用 B 來做成 A 。所以“ Making love out of nothing at all”, 它似乎應該是說那份愛是憑空而來的，沒有太多理由的，憑空而生的。整首歌我理解的大意是，“我”在生活中是個強者，似乎對一切都了如指掌，明白所有的遊戲規則，感情上亦是掌握得恰到好處，遊刃有餘，收放自如。可是“我”卻遇到了“你”，我為你迷失，在你麵前我無能為力，我願意徹底臣服，隻換取與你相守。我無法理解這樣無法控製的愛，毫無緣由，不知從何而來。
當然，這是我個人淺見，若那位高人可以指點迷津，將不勝感激。

The Chinese version from 《我是歌手》 makes no sense. Yors is true to the origianl.
I like Lin's version. There is nothing wrong in his English, clear cut and with a little London tone. This just fits this fast rhythmic lyrics.
感謝我是歌手，讓我對這首歌又重新了解一遭。這兩天找出多年前買的 Air Supply 的CD，在車裏聽了一遍又一遍。音樂真是神奇。多年前澳大利亞的歌手寫下的歌，如今在美國，一個華人反複聆聽。音樂萬歲！

I agreed with you. I was confused to seee the chinese translation. I think your translation makes more sense. I googled the meaning of the lyric and I can tell different people has diffent interpreation http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/12089/

說的是男主人公可以呼風喚雨，但是意識到呼風喚雨並不能左右愛，愛來源於某種無理由、無條件的東西，而男主人公願意去嚐試。但是女主人公似乎並不領情。所以裏麵有一段：And I'll never let you fall。。。And I don't know how you do it。和 I can make all your demons be gone，But I'm never gonna make it without you。Do you really want to see me crawl？And I'm never gonna make it like you do。。。 這種男主人公的覺醒和女主人公的ignorance的對比，不是生活中有的場景嗎？這使這首歌很妙。歌手不僅聲音超棒，情感也細膩，歌詞還非常深刻。的確是首好歌。
